Course objectives
The main objective of the course is to gain practical skills with supporting adult people with disabilities based on theoretical information about them. At the end of the course the students will be able to identify and describe needs of adult people with disabilities in different areas of life, the differences in the communication and offer appropriate support. The course is practically oriented and puts emphasis on active access of students.

  • 1. Adulthood and disability
  • 2. Interpersonal communication, communication between and with people with disabilities and disadvantage
  • 3. Therapeutic approaches for adult people with disabilities
  • 4. Counselling, interview in counselling
  • 5. Case and family conference as a possibility of working with people with disabilities and their families
  • 6. (Self)experience with disability, environment, conditions
  • 7. Support of an adult person with disabilities in activities of daily living
