Course objectives
Students improve monologue and dialogue skills as well as written expression. Students are to employ lexical and grammar knowledge in verbal and situation orientated excercises, paying a lot of attention to translations.
Syllabus
  • The main emphasis of the course is placed on developing communicative ability on the basis of dialogue, debates and discussions within current conversational topics (with use Russian newspapers, magazines and the Internet): 1 to 2 What is your partner´s character? What would you like to be? Character types. 3 to 4 What do you like to dress? How do you like the current fashion? What do you prefer in your closet? 5 to 6 Do you have a driver's license? What signs do you know? The traffic situation in the city and outside the city. Build dialogues. 7 to 8 Communication in the bank. ATM - operation, collecting money. 9 to 10 What do you know about Russia? What is your country - population, area. What are the biggest cities (comparative Russian-Czech aspect). 11 to 12 What holidays do you prefer? What you follow traditions in your family? Summer and winter holidays (comparative Russian-Czech aspect).

Teaching methods
Seminar.The student must prepare regulary for the seminar and do required home assingnments. Listening and reading of Russian texts are recommended.
Assessment methods
Fulfilling requirements attendance 80% (two allowed absences); active participation in the class; essay on the given topic at the last lesson.
