Course objectives
The course enhances education of secondary school mathematics teachers with didactic principles for working with pupils 11-15 years old.
Syllabus
  • 1. Approach to introducing notions in geometry. Straight line, ray (half-line), plane, half-plane. Line segment and its length. Angle and its size. 2. Triangles, quadrangles, circle, disc. Polygons. Classification of the individual shapes, their definition and properties. 3. Identity mappings and uniform scaling. 4. Construction tasks and their solving at an elementary school.. 5. Measures of geometric shapes, deducing the formulas for calculating the perimeter and area of planar shapes and surfaces and volumes of solids. Units of measure and their transformation. 6. Depiction of planar geometric shapes and solids in affine projections, views on solids (floor plan, cross section)
