Course objectives
The main objective of the course is to develop speaking, reading, writing and listening skills at B1 level. The basic study material is the coursebook Outcomes Intermediate supplemented by various additional materials. At the end of the course students should be able to: discuss everyday topics, communicate in everyday situations, read and listen to authentic texts at the Intermediate Level and communicate in the language fluently.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the course the students will: - develop speaking, reading, writing and listening skills at the Intermediate Level (B1 according to CEFR);

Syllabus
  • The basic study material is the coursebook Outcomes INTERMEDIATE (Student's book), see Literature bellow. The syllabus includes Units 13 to 16, the focus is on speaking and listening activities and development of students' vocabulary.

Assessment methods
Requirements: Maximum number of points per semester: 100 Pass mark: 70 (part of this sum is also the final written and oral test, students must obtain at least 70% for these final tests - if not: two resits of the final test are offered) Written test: 40 points Oral test: 30 points; Placement test No. 1: 5 points Progress test: 5 points. Other types of continuous assessment: 20 points FURTHER INFORMATION ON POINTS: PROGRESS TEST: 100-95% 5 POINTS 94-85% 4 POINTS 84-75% 3 POINTS 74-70% 2 POINTS LESS THAN 70% 1 POINT
