- Course objectives
- Dual face of language: The language viewed as a system which is composed from the units with definite meanings and the language as an apriori given whole, which units - the elementary parts of meaning - are delimitated during the use. The concepts of the structure, the meaning and the value. The expression of the truth and the existence in the language.

- Problém původu a podstaty jazyka. Skutečnost jazyka a skutečnost mimojazyková. Znak, označující a označované. Ikona, index, symbol. Semiotika jako věda o znacích. Paradigma obratu k jazyku ve 20. století. Jazyk jako forma pojmového myšlení, logická analýza jazyka,pojem,výrok, argument, teorie. Vrstva syntaxe, sémantiky a pragmatiky. Expresivita jazyka, jeho přesnost, srozumitelnost, úloha analogie, metafory a metonymie. Strukturalismus. Vyjádření pravdy a existence v jazyce. Nejčastější chyby,jichž se při argumentaci dopouštíme. Dvojí způsob, jímž se projevuje lidská svoboda v jazyce.
