Course objectives
The subject is based on training of the application of knowledge that the students have won at theoretical lecture to the practical analysis. Fundamental terminology: word, its form and semantic meaning, characteristic marks of the word; lexical units (formed of one or more components), phrase; classification of the Czech vocabulary form various points of view. How to use the lexicon. Lexical analysis of texts and of isolated lexical units.

  • 1. Lexikology as linguistic discipline. Parts of lexikology. 2. Lexical system, Methods of lexikology. 3. Word - sign - semantics of words. 4. Classification of the Czech vocabulary. 5. Lexicon of Czech language. 6. Development and broading of the Czech vocabulary.
