Course objectives
The goal is improving the communicative competence of students. The fundamental textbook is a French method Le Nouveau sans frontieres 4, which is complemented by further materials mentioned below. At the end of this course, students should be able to: understand extended speech and lectures, articles and reports concerned with contemporary problems provided that the topic is reasonably familiar; interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity, take an active part in discussion in familiar contexts while accounting for, and sustaining, their views; write an essay or report, passing on information or giving reasons in support of, or against, a particular point of view.

Assessment methods
Requirements for ending: meet the workshop requirements and the active participation (70%). Test (as a successful test is considered one with at least 70 % right answers) and oral examination.
