- The main goals of the course:
understanding of the dynamics of development of the western societies
active ecquirment and usage of the basics sociological terminology
nderstanding of the late modern globalizing societies - Learning outcomes
- - to familiarize with the basic terminology - to understand the basic affinities - to apply knowledge on real life events and to analyze them
- Syllabus
- Delimination of the subject and basic functions of sociology.
- Basic sociological terms.
- Society, conditions of the social life.
- Sociology - the time of the birth, transition of the traditional to the modern society.
- Traditional society - the close reflection.
- Modern society - changes on the level of primary groups, of social status/class, production, market...
- Information / reflexive society - globalization, risk society, reflexive modernization.
