Prerequisites
The prerequisites involve the knowledge within the field of education students with a mental disability within the requirements of undergraduate studies, good orientation in pupils with mental disabilities in the educational system, including training programmes and focus on individuals with moderate, severe mental retardation and autism spectrum disorders.

Course objectives
The goal of this course is to teach students these topics: education of students with moderate, severe and profound mental disability and autism spectrum disorders, diagnostics, education and upbringing of persons with moderate, severe, profound mental disability and ASD, special educational centres, a special methodology of teaching, alternative forms of communication, pre-professional and professional work with people with a mental disability, legislation, social services, charity and non-state organizations.
Learning outcomes
Students can define moderate, severe and profound mental retardation, autism spectrum disorders, specify the educational system, are aware of the special methodology and didactic of teaching, know all education programmes for pupils with moderate, severe mental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders.
