Course objectives
The aim of the course is to understand the history of propaganda, to be able to distinguish between different types of propaganda in a geopolitical context, to recognize propaganda in today's world, and to be able to distinguish it from other phenomena with which it is often confused.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students will be able to: - describe and identify the most significant milestones in the history of propaganda - distinguish between types of propaganda in geopolitical contexts - recognize the phenomenon of propaganda and distinguish it from other phenomena with which it is often confused

1) Propaganda in the pre-modern era (Marie Koldinská) 2) Typology of propaganda in the 20th century (Marie Koldinská) 3) Propaganda during the Third Reich (Marie Koldinská) 4) Propaganda versus disinformation (Marie Koldinská) 5) Visual media with historical themes in public spaces and school history lessons 1 – historical photographs, posters, and postage stamps. (Kamil Štěpánek) 6) Visual media with historical themes in public spaces and school history lessons 2 – comics, caricatures. Assessment methods
To pass, you must complete a colloquium in the form of a written test with a single correct answer. To pass, you must answer 60% of the questions correctly, i.e., score 60 points out of 100.
