Course objectives
Student understands basic goals and methods of formal syntax; he knows those important problems for this framework which stem from Slavonic languages, and he should be able to apply apparatus of formal description to these data. He should be able to solve traditional Slavic data problems as case system, aspectual system but he also recognizes modern problems which arise as a result of using formal framework for describing natural language.
Syllabus
  • - case and agreement, genitiv of negation, syntax of quantifiers, argument structure, clitics, wh-movement, binding, aspect, linearisation.
