RSb015 Speaking in Russian I
Successful completion of the course RSb015 Speaking and Writing in Russian I (for students of the Russian Studies bachelor program). Russian language proficiency at least at B1 level (for other students).

Course objectives
The aim of the course is to improve the students’ Russian language competence based on the practice of listening, video watching and reading with understanding. The emphasis is put on the active use of Russian language both in written and oral forms. The course develops the students' ability to correctly express their thoughts in Russian on the topics discussed using new vocabulary, as well as stylistic devices and principles of study essay writing.
Learning outcomes
After finishing the course, the students will be able:
to debate about one of discussed topics, to argue their opinions in Russian;
to independently work with literary and journalistic texts on discussed topics based on the acquired knowledge;
to detect and use various stylistic devices in texts written in Russian;
to use the punctuation rules in texts written in Russian.

Teaching methods
Discussion, analysis and interpretation of read and heard text, language exercises, group and individual projects. Home work.
