Prerequisites
The predispositions for the course are interest in libraries and a basic knowledge of the elementary function of libraries. The course is practically oriented and thus a completed internship in a library of any kind is helpful.

Course objectives
- To identify the basic function of libraries in a modern society. - To distinguish the fundamental and the optional roles of libraries and to learn how the educational process of various target groups is lead in libraries. - To learn to use methodical approach to the visitors' key competences, such as: information literacy, multicultural thinking, intergeneration learning, active citizenship support etc. - To learn what tools may be used in order to enhance collaboration between libraries, other institutions and the founder. - Strategy design of an educating library.

  • - Library of today and tomorrow: what is the actual role of libraries? - Library, media, internet and its use: how can a library enhance its users' media literacy? - Library and the multicultural society: how can a library enhance the tolerance for diversity? - Library and various generations: how can a library encourage the development of intergeneration relations in its community? -E-learning: Financial literacy and how to raise it? -E-learning: Language skills and how to raise it in communities?

Teaching methods (in Czech)
Předmět je vyučován v pěti blocích, které jsoukoncipovány jako kreativní, prakticky orientované workshopy s externími lektory. Výuka probíhá pouze 5x za semestr, je však doplněna povinným splněním 80 % e-learningové formy kurzu, 90minutové konzultace v průběhu semestru a závěrečného kolokvia, které proběhne ve zkouškovém období, na němž budeme procházet vaše výstupyz e-learningu a hodnotit se.
Assessment methods
Active attendance at the workshops is required and the quality of the e-learning tasks are evaluated.
