  • published in 1964; although some of its points may be questionable from today's point of view, it is still frequently referred to and is a good representative of the linguistically oriented branch of translation studies. As material for illustrating their theoretical constructions, Nida and Taber use almost exclusively Biblical texts. It is therefore possible to compare the points they make with the solutions that appeared in Czech translations of the Scriptures.
