Course objectives
The course will aim to give students the main knowledge and skills, which the editor needs to prepare a book title - from the handwriting to the book introduced on a fair.
At the end of this course students should be able to: orientate in functioning of a publishing house; understand relations in the book market; acquire all basic skills necessary for working as a literary editor.
Syllabus
  • - book - book market - operation of publishing house - co-operation with the author - publishing agreements - co-operation with the technical editor, the graphic designer and other designers - proofreading - technical and editor's data - accompanying texts (book cover, bookmarks and etc.) - typographic minimum - editor's plan
