Course objectives
The course follows up on the previous course concentrating in particular on folk clothing in the Czech lands. Following the introductory part dedicated to literature, development in research and regionalisation it focuses on distinguishing between the clothing and regional type of clothes. It analyses basic patterns crucial for determining the types of folk clothes in Bohemia and Moravia and the typology of clothing elements. It defines the main characteristics of individual regional types and describes their decoration (embroidery, lace, jewellery) including its esthetics.
