Course objectives
This seminar is focused on work with text. The main aims are: Greek orthography practice, understanding of Modern Greek, particularly journalistic, text and improvement of students’ independent writing. The seminar is primarily intended for second-year students.
Syllabus
  • Rules of Greek orthography – basic theoretical information and practical exercises. Reading of Modern Greek texts, particularly from Modern Greek press – understanding of texts, language analysis. Independent writing – short essays.

Assessment methods
The course has a form of a seminar. Students continuously write and hand in essays. Regular attendance and continuous work on given tasks are prerequisites for obtaining credits for the seminar.
