Course objectives
Main objectives of the course can be summarized as follows:
- to understand the basic texts of medieval secular lyrics, their language, poetics and content
- to get acquainted with Carmina Burana as the most important and best known collection of the poetry of this kind (necessary if one wants to become familiar with this literary genre)

Credit: students should prove their ability to understand the text (the language as well as the content), to translate it and to read rhythmic poetry (vagant strophe etc.)
