Course objectives
The goal of the seminar is the help students finish their theses and get ready for the thesis defense. The thesis deals with a particular problem in a given area of study. Students must prove the ability the work independently, handle the technical literature and analysis.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course the students will be able:
to work critically with specialized texts, process the concepts and theories discovered there, and find relevant answers to the given questions.
Syllabus
  • The student completes at least 2 consultations with his/her supervisor based on the submitted part of the text of his/her thesis.
  • Consultation 1: Takes place around the end of March. The subject of the consultation is the submission of one or two chapters of the thesis in the range of 15-25,000 characters, in addition to the general structure of the thesis, the chosen objectives, methods and recommended literature. The text must be submitted to the supervisor at least one week before the consultation, the text must be properly edited and meet the requirements of academic style.
  • Consultation 2: Takes place approximately at the end of April. It involves the submission of a version of the chapters submitted in the first consultation, revised according to the supervisor's instructions, and two or three further chapters of the thesis in the range of 20-30,000 characters. The texts must be submitted to the supervisor at least one week before the consultation, the texts must be properly edited and must meet the requirements of academic style.

Credit is awarded for participation in at least two consultations, which are always preceded by the delivery of parts of the thesis.
