Course objectives
The aim of the course is to analyse the French drama of the 2nd half of the 20th century. The analysis will follow modern French theories of drama (from Saussurian theory of language to actancy models of Anne Ubersfeld and the Paris school of structuralism and theories of Patrice Pavis etc.) We will work mostly with the plays of playwrigts of "theatre of everyday" (Deutsch, Vinaver), plays of Roger Planchon, Yasmina Reza, Jean Tardieu, E.E. Schmitt etc.
