Course objectives
The course will inform students about the basic terms (ethnic group, ethnicity, nation, nationality) and trends in research into the ethnical theory. The lectures will be complemented with seminars aimed at deepening the view of theoretical issues on the basis of selected example cases. Since most of the literature on this topic is in foreign languages, the knowledge of a foreign language (English or German) is essential for participating in this course.
