Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
After finishing the course the student is able to describe roughly the evolution of European sculpture in period of 12th-16th century. He/she has a knowledge of important centers of local sculpture, especially in Central European context. He/she can identify commonly used materials and characterize them, knows basics of sculptural technology, he/she is familiar with methods of iconographical and formal analysis applied on medieval materials used in sculpture.

Italian Quattrocento 6. Sculpture of the first half of the 14th century in Central Europe 7. Karel IV. and sculpture in Bohemia and Moravia 8. Madonna and Pieta as basic sculptural types 9. Central European Sculpture of the "dark age" 10. Late Gothic sculpture in Central Europe 11. Late Gothic and beginnings of the Renaissance in BOhemia and Moravia 12. Excursion (Moravia)
