- Course objectives
- Croatian language instruction focused on broadening of vocabulary, conversation on various topics and exercising the ability to define characteristic words phrases and idioms. Each week students hand in an essay. At the end of this course students should be able to describe new grammar phenomena acquired in this semester and use the knowledge in spoken and written interaction. By the means of acquiring new vocabulary and grammar they can create text or speak about related topics. Students are able to understand written text and interpret it.

- Analysis of topical articles from Croatian press, loan words, synonyms, antonyms, defining of terms, retelling a journalistic texts, written and oral locution.

- Teaching methods
- Seminar (two hours per week), several essays, several translations from Croatian to Czech, home preparation, within the class a combination of teacher-led activities and student-centered/group learning activities will be employed.
- Assessment methods
- Regular attendance, homework, translation and home preparation required. Upon fulfilling all requirements listed the students must pass a final test.
