Course objectives
The aim is to test and deepen the grammatical knowledge of Russian with emphasis on professional and academic language. The course consists of thematic seminars focusing on Russian grammar at B2 level. Attention is paid to both theory and practical exercises.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to: communicate grammatically correctly, understand longer speeches, select essential information necessary for understanding the text and subsequent problem solving, and be able to give grammatically correct independent oral speech. All language skills (listening, reading, speaking, writing) are practised during the course.
Syllabus
  • Characteristic features of professional and academic style. Specific features of professional and academic style in terms of Russian grammar. Selected aspects of Russian grammar (nouns and types of inflection, feminitives, inflection of adjectives and pronouns, correspondence of adjectives and pronouns with nouns, verbs, prepositional phrases, synonyms, etc.) and practical exercises.

Teaching methods
Seminar form of teaching, presentations, practical exercises, practice (odpovědníky), group work.
Assessment methods
Active participation in seminars (attendance rate 70%), completion of continuous tasks, odpovědníky, presentations, final test (success rate 65%).
