Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The course will introduce selected prominent women philosophers (Émilie Du Châtelet, Simone de Beauvoir, Martha Nussbaum, Margaret Cavendish, Albína Dratva, Elizabeth Anscombe), placing their thought in the contemporary context and philosophical thought. The survey will be supplemented by an introduction to some key texts and other study materials.
Learning outcomes
The graduate will gain knowledge about important female figures in the history of philosophy and on this basis will be able to complete and clarify the picture of the development of philosophical thought.
Syllabus
  • Self-study + face-to-face lessons 1st session will take place during the week of (9/9 - 15/9 2024) Session 2 will take place during the week of (7 October - 13 October 2024)
