Course objectives
Students will acquire the knowledge regarding the basic principles and the basis of regional development concept and regional policy and their application in the Czech Republic and the European Union. The main aim of the course is the introduction to and discussion of methodological and economical starting points of the regional development and regional policy concepts.
Learning outcomes
Student completing the course will be able to understand:
- philosphical, historical, methodological and economic foundations of regional development;
- theories of regional development and approaches applied in regional policy;
- issues and methods of strategic planning of regional development and regional policy of Europen Union.

Teaching methods
lectures, individual and group projects and presentations, presentations by students, class discussion
Assessment methods
Lecture, seminary, seminary project (evaluated by the seminar tutor and the lecturer), oral and written exam. Maximum number of students during the exam is set to 10. In the case of bad epidemic situation, the exam will be held completely online using suitable tool.
