Course objectives
At the end of this course, students should be able to identify individual orders of insects and common insect species of our fauna. Students will be learn the ecological demands of individual taxa and species and inform about their biological and applied importance. Students also obtain knowledge about basic methods of field research in entomology and preparation of insects.
Syllabus
  • The field course includes three days of field research of selected natural habitats in order to sample insects, to survey the site, identify and demonstrate the collected taxa and species. During additional 1-2 blocks in the laboratory students will practice methods of preparation and identification of the collected material.
