Course objectives
The course is primarily intended for students planning to study or work abroad, especially as part of the Erasmus+ program. However, students who have already participated in some student exchange and those who just want to improve and practice their language skills can also enroll in it. It is open to both bachelor's and master's degree students.
Learning outcomes
The student will be able to (at B1+ or a higher level): prepare and deliver a presentation on a topic related to study abroad, participate in a discussion (spontaneous reaction, paraphrase, summary and initiating further interaction), provide personal data and information about the study, write an application letter and a formal email, compare the differences between different cultures and realize intercultural demands, use vocabulary on practical topics (travel, accommodation, services), distinguish the main and supporting ideas of a speech or a text and summarize them, understand the essay and its features as an assessment tool.

Teaching methods
Presentations, discussions, work with short videos, listening exercises, reading comprehension, short writings, homework. Individual topics are mediated by the teacher and, in the practical parts, by a foreign assistant, who is a mobility participant at MU (a native speaker) with teaching experience or a certificate.
Assessment methods
Credit requirements: 80% participation in seminars with active contribution. Continuous tasks throughout the course: oral presentation (6-8 minutes), application letter, short homework tasks.
