The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
This is the basic lecture on the use of PC in biology work. The emphasis is put on getting and storage literary resources. Furthermore on working with text and table processors including fundamentals of statistic data evaluation. Report preparation and presentation with help of PC.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course, students should be able to: - use MS Windows and MS Office on advanced level; - use informations to collect scientific literature, write bachelor or diploma thesis; - design presentation or poster; - evaluate scientific data

Teaching methods
Practical lectures in PC room, operating different versions of the software. Examples of bachelor and diploma theses, posters, presentations.
Assessment methods
Credits are granted for active participation at the lectures, attendance of the lectures is not mandatory but recommended for fluent understanding of the educated subjects. Final assessment (at the end of semester) is by written examination when students solve tasks on PC - preparation of presentations, posters or other documents according to the templates.
