The course is offered to a limited number of students. Participants MUST have some type of completed professional/academic writing at time of class (dissertation/thesis or other) beyond simple abstract. The capacity limit for the course is 8 students.

Cíle předmětu
The basis of the course is intended to assist in writing scientific papers/documents in the English language. PhD students are encouraged to bring what they have been working on for assessment and encouragemnt. This course is intended to be guidence and assistance in nature.
Výstupy z učení
The main focus of the course is to provide the best outcomes for each enrolled student on an one-on-one personal basis. After course completion, students will join in an open discussion on the content and outcome of the course to address any unanswered questions or issues and to determine further study/inquirey of interest to the class. The instructors intent is to provide advice and to assist each participant with their chosen project. Students will interact with each other to provide feedback as well.
Osnova
  • The class will meet for 8 consecutive weeks. Each student will present their work (writing) to the class in a typical seminar format. Instructor and students will discuss and have informal discussions to help each particpant arrive at their best outcome for their project.

Traditional seminar format and open discussion. Informal in nature to provide comfortable environment for learning.
Metody hodnocení
At the end of the course students will present their projects at a “mini-conference” for students to interact and discuss topics of interest.

Informace učitele
Professor is a visiting Fulbright Scholar from the US and will attempt to provide valuable input for students, with emphasis on student needs. Also provided will be an overview of professional outdoor/environmental writing for popular media since the instructor is also a professional outdoor writer (magazines, newspaper, books, etc). Instructor is focused on providing what the student wants or is interested in learning more about. Open dialogue will be encouraged throught the 8 weeks and beyond.
