Course objectives
The course consists from three parts, which correspond to Three refugees (Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha). Beginning of the course deals with Buddha Shakyamuni life. After the review of his basic teachings the course deals with basic concepts of the Buddhist doctrine. The last part of the coure is devoted to overview of the history of spreading of Buddhism in Asia and elsewhere around the World. In the seminary students are introduced to basic Buddhists canonical texts (main sutras) as well as to some non-canonical texts.
