- Course objectives
- At the end of the course the students should know the way how to give the first aid in frequent acute conditions threatening the life (see the programme). The students would be able to describe symptoms of the condition and explain it´s cause.
- Learning outcomes
- The student will be informed about main acute life threating conditions, their causes, symptoms and ways of first aid steps till professional providers come.
- Syllabus
- Programme of the course Medical First Aid The first school year, specialization in medicine, physiotherapy, BFPP011c The course is given as PC and video presentations in most frequent acute conditions threatening the life. Each chapter involves definition, cause, symptoms, procedure in giving of first aid and basic treatment of the condition. There is a practical presentation and training of cardiopulmonal resuscitation on a model. Topics: Cardiopulmonal resuscitation Shock, circulatory failure, myocardial infarction Sepsis, alergy, respiratory insuficiency, aspiration, asthmatic attack Unconsciousness- extracranial and intracranial causes, epileptic seizure, stroke Acute conditions of the abdomen, colic, acute renal failure Injuries of bones and joints, injuries of the spine and of spinal cord, craniocerebral injuries Blast syndrom, burns, injury by electricity, by cold and hot conditions Drowning, cramps, spasm and convulsions Acute condions in ENT, ophtalmology and gynecology Acute intoxications, drug addiction 30 th December, 2008
