Basic course for students of the Faculty of Arts. Minimum level of Spanish B1 according to CEFR.

Course objectives
The course is focused on academic skills and professional language. During the course all language skills will be practised (listening, reading comprehension, oral and written presentations). Authentic recordings and texts are used. The aim of the course is to reach the B1+ (according to CEFR) level competencies.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student wil be able to: - give reasons and explanations for opinions, plans and actions - deliver short, rehearsed announcements on a topic pertinent to everyday occurrences in his/her field which, despite possibly very foreign stress and intonation, are nevertheless clearly intelligible - give a prepared straightforward presentation on a familiar topic within his/her field which is clear enough to be followed without difficulty most of the time, and in which the main points are explained with reasonable precision. - write straightforward connected texts on a range of familiar subjects within his field of interest - summarise, report and give his/her opinion about accumulated factual information on familiar matters within his/her field with some confidence.

Teaching methods
Presentations prepared by students, discussions in class, reading assignments, grammar exercises.
Assessment methods
Class exercises (four short writing activities, minipresentations). Presentations on a weekly basis of news on current issues. Active class participation is obligatory (70% attendance); final work - recordings of presented news, glossary.

General note: Kurz je zakončen zápočtem (písemný test z probraného učiva). V dalším semestru pokračuje kurzem CJVS2M, který je zakončen zkouškou.
Information on course enrolment limitations: Podmínkou pro zápis do kurzu je znalost španělštiny na středoškolské úrovni nebo adekvátní znalost získaná na základě jiné formy studia.
