The aim of the study program is to educate the medical practitioner of a qualified specialist - a physiotherapy magistrate who will be entitled to perform physiotherapist activities in the field of therapeutic preventive care in the framework of medical rehabilitation and other components of comprehensive rehabilitation at the corresponding workplaces in the state and private sector within the scope of competencies defined in the profile of a graduate of physiotherapy in the follow-up Master's degree program. It is essential to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills for performing the relevant medical profession.

The aim of the study program is to educate the medical practitioner of a qualified specialist - a physiotherapy magistrate who will be entitled to perform physiotherapist activities in the field of therapeutic preventive care in the framework of medical rehabilitation and other components of comprehensive rehabilitation at the corresponding workplaces in the state and private sector within the scope of competencies defined in the profile of a graduate of physiotherapy in the follow-up Master's degree program. It is essential to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills for performing the relevant medical profession.
- Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the programme, the graduate is able to:
- explain modern trends in the development of comprehensive rehabilitation based on new findings in medical science;
- prepare a scientific research project in the field of rehabilitation, based on knowledge of scientific methodology;
- be in a specialized contact with patients within the existing healthcare system based on ethical principles;
- argue and defend methodologically correctly the results of its own scientific work;
- apply highly specialized physiotherapy procedures in practice as a specialist;
- educate patients, or persons designated by them, in specialized physiotherapy procedures;
- monitor and evaluate the condition of patients in terms of the possibility of complications and sudden events;
- train physical therapists and other healthcare professionals in demanding and specialized physical therapy procedures;
- perform specialized physiotherapy procedures as part of medical rehabilitation;
- identify physiotherapy care activities requiring a change in procedure, evaluate the effectiveness of specialized procedures used;
- conduct research aimed at identifying causes and shortcomings in rehabilitation care, evaluate the quality of care provided;
- apply new theoretical and methodological knowledge from the field of rehabilitation and other medical sciences on which physiotherapy is based
- create conditions for applying research results into clinical practice at one's own workplace and within the field;
- prepare standards for specialized procedures within the scope of their competence, conduct specialized training in their field of specialization.
- Occupational Profiles of Graduates
The graduate becomes a professional physiotherapist with specialized competence. He will be employed at the Department of Medical Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy, at Rehabilitation Centers and at all hospital departments, including Intensive Care Units (ICUs). Furthermore, in rehabilitation institutes, in social care institutions, in spas, in units and departments of pain treatment and other facilities, using a wide range of non-invasive and non-pharmacological physiotherapy procedures.
The graduate will be prepared to be part of a broader team for the coordination and cooperation of care for patients with both acute and chronic diseases as part of a comprehensive rehabilitation process. In addition, he will be ready to pursue his further research career through doctoral studies at the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University.
Thanks to good practical and theoretical teaching, the graduate's abilities will be fully comparable with current world trends. The achieved level of erudition is a guarantee of trouble-free application on the labor market both in the Czech Republic and in the European Union.

The two-year follow-up Master's degree program is completed by the elaboration of the diploma thesis and its scope and formalities are given by the internal norm of the Faculty of Medicine. Diploma thesis defense is part of the state exam.
The diploma thesis in physiotherapy is focused on application and experimentation and is aimed at education for scientific work.

After completing the follow-up Master's degree program in Physiotherapy, there is a possibility to continue in doctoral study programs at the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University.
