Abstract
We studied history of Central-European raised bog, developed on mountain summits. Such bogs are specific ecosystems of high conservation importance, but their history remains largely unknown. Pollen, macrofossils, testate amoebae and peat characteristics were analysed in a peat sequence of the Vozka bog (Hrubý Jeseník Mountains, Eastern Sudetes, Czech Republic). Past water chemistry and water-table depths were reconstructed by transfer functions calibrated from recent testate amoeba data and long-term environmental averages. Peat initiation started in the middle Holocene by the process of paludification and mixed spruce-elm-hazel woodland was recorded close to the treeline. Around 100 bc the vegetation changed from Eriophorum vaginatum-poor fen to the ombrotrophic-bog vegetation similar to the recent situation.
Abstract (in Czech)
Studovali jsme historii vrchoviště na horském hřebeni. Taková vrchoviště jsou specifickými ekosystémy s velkou významem pro ochranu přírody, ale jejich historie je málo známá. Analyzovali jsme pyly, makrozbytky, krytenky a parametry rašeliny v profilu Vozka v Hrubém Jesníku (Česká republika). Chemismus vrchovištní vody a vodní režim byl rekonstruován z recentních dat o krytenkách a dlouhodobých měření. Rašelina se začala ukládat ve středním holocénu procesem paludifikace, v okolí se nacházelysmíšené lesy se smrkem, jasanem a lískou. Okolo 100 BC se vegetace přechodového rašeliniště změnila na vrchovištní vegetaci sycenou srážkovou vodou, která je podobná té dnešní.
