Abstract

Druhý ročník konference Promýšlet Evropu dvacátého století, který se uskutečnil 10. a 11. dubna 2013 a nesl podtitul Proměny hranic, navazuje na předchozí setkání doktorských studentů a mladých vědeckých pracovníků zabývajících se evropskými dějinami dvacátého století. Zazněly zde příspěvky zaměřené nejen na posuny hranic mezi státy či mezi rozsáhlejšími celky v geopolitické či mezinárodní rovině, ale i ty, které sledovaly proměny hranic na sociálně-hospodářské nebo kulturní úrovni. Proměnami hranic se rozumí jejich vznik a zánik, posouvání, překonávání a celkově fenomén proměnlivosti hranic, který se odrazil v samotném vnímání hranic. To vše v mezinárodním rozměru a mezinárodních souvislostech.

Abstract (in English)

The second conference: Thinking Europe in the 20th century which takes place 10th -11th April 2013 was called Transformations of Borders. It is linked to last PhD candidates’ scientific conference which dealt with 20th century European history. Here were presented papers that were specialized in transformations, changes and shifts of borders not only in the geopolitical sense but in the social, cultural and economical sense, as well. We understand the transformation of borders in the way of their formation and demise, move and overcrossing – all that in the international context. In general, we would like to grasp a process of changeability of borders and how the changes are perceived by a society. A focus of all presentation papers were on the causes, impacts and influence of these changes over historical development during 20th century European history.
