Abstract
In this article we present a new digital device for the detection of neutron radiation in neutron-gamma mixed field. This device is able to separate particles in real time based on the shape of detector output signal. Several of the separation methods are described and results of experiments with different neutron emitters are presented. The apparatus can be adjusted for various types of detectors (Stilbene, NE213) and can be also used for the detection of alpha and beta radiation. Possible applications of this device are on board aircraft to detect terrestrial neutron sources. Advantages of digital approach compared to former analogue processing are discussed.
