Abstract

La novela Ciudad final enfoca uno de los temas más inquietantes de los últimos tiempos: los feminicidios de la zona fronteriza de México. Aunque se trata de un ejemplo del género de novela negra, su autora Kama Gutier, sin embargo, pretende, ante todo, hacer una crítica de la alarmante situación. La autora reivindicando el concepto sartreano de la literatura, la concibe como una herramienta útil para despertar la conciencia cívica de los lectores, incitándoles a interesarse por los graves problemas relacionados con dicho fenómeno. Una de las ideas principales es aquella de convencerle al lector de que, si bien se trata de problemas vinculados a la sociedad mexicana, nos conciernen a todos en el mundo contemporáneo globalizado.

Román Ciudad final autorky Kamy Gutier je pozoruhodným dílem, jehož námětem jsou sériové vraždy žen na severu v příhraniční oblasti s USA. Nicméně spíše než samotné téma je v tomto případě mnohem pozoruhodnější autorčin deklarovaný záměr využít románu jako nástroje k mobilizaci veřejného mínění a zahájení celospolečenské diskuze. Příspěvek věnuje pozornost prostředkům, které autorka využívá při výstavbě textu ve snaze dosáhnout zamýšleného cíle.

Abstract (in English)

The novel Final City focuses one of the most disturbing issues of recent times: the murders of women in the border area of Mexico. Although this is an example of the thriller genre, the author Kama Gutier, however, aims primarily a critique on the alarming situation. The author claiming the Sartrean concept of literature, conceived as a tool to raise civic awareness of readers, wants to get them interested in the serious problems associated with this phenomenon. One of the main ideas is that of convincing the reader that, although these problems are linked to Mexican society, they affect us all in the contemporary globalized world.
