Monografie je výstupem mezinárodního výzkumu „Rozvoj malých a středních podniků v příhraničních oblastech (M00200)“, zaměřeného na stavební podniky česko-rakouské příhraniční oblasti. Přináší teoretické ukotvení provedeného výzkumu, se zaměřením na faktory ovlivňující úspěšnost podniků a spolupráci podniků. Využitý je modifikovaný model pěti konkurenčních sil, upraven pro potřeby výzkumného záměru a doplněný o sílu šestou, kooperaci. Kombinován je pohled z vnitřku podniku, tedy resource-based view, a pohled na vnější prostředí podniku, tedy market-based view. Vývoj stavebnictví v České republice a v Rakousku je charakterizován na základě analýzy sekundárních dat. Po představení základního a výběrového souboru jsou prezentovány samotné výsledky s příslušným statistickým vyhodnocení pro jednotlivé proměnné. Grafická vyobrazení jsou doplněna slovními komentáři, které objasňují hlubší souvislosti prezentovaných výsledků. Pozornost je věnována vzájemnému srovnání získaných výsledků s využitím matematicko-statistických nástrojů a statistických testů, aby tak bylo možno identifikovat jednotlivé faktory v daných oblastech, vplývající významnou mírou na dané podniky. Monografie tak přináší zajímavý pohled na hodnocení aktuálního vývoje ve stavebnictví, a také přináší další náměty pro nové výzkumné projekty.

This publication is outcome of international research project "Development of small and medium enterprises in the border areas (M00200)". Project was focused on construction enterprises in Czech-Austrian border area. Publication provides theoretical anchoring of the research, focusing on the business success factors and cooperation. Modified competitiveness model of five forces is adapted to fit the research project and complemented by the sixth strength, cooperation. Two points of view are combined; the view from inside the company - resource-based view - and the view of the external business environment - market-based view. The development of the construction industry in the Czech Republic and Austria is characterized according to analysis of secondary data. The results of the research survey are presented with relevant statistical evaluation of variables. Supplementary verbal comments of graphic illustration clarify the context of the presented results. Mutual comparison of the results is presented due to ability to identify particular factors influencing enterprises in areas of interest. Mathematical a statistical tools and test are used for the mutual comparison. Publication provides an interesting view on the evaluation of current developments in the construction industry and also provides additional suggestions for new research projects.
