Abstract
SrAl4O7:Eu and SrAl4O7:Eu,Dy samples have been prepared using conventional solid state synthesis. Addition of boric acid improves phase purity and influences photoluminescence. Europium- doped samples show emission maxima at 485 nm and afterglow decay halftimes up to ~285 s. Co-doping with dysprosium shifts emission maxima to 467 nm and enhances afterglow decay lifetimes up to ~474 s.
