V originále

The aim of this chapter is to provide comparison of development in social services in EU27 from the perspective of employment, characteristics of the employees and job quality between 2000 and 2010. The chapter is based mainly on quantitative data sources, namely Labour Force Survey, European Working Conditions Survey and other similar sources. The chapter provides comprehensive evidence about rising of employment in social services, changes in workforce’s education and important aspects of job quality including demanding working conditions in some occupations in the social services sector.
