Above all such a claim presumes a profound change in the way the society is structured and reproduced. That is why before we start to explore the role of media communication in its relation to processes of domination and resistance which take place in this “new” kind of society, we should make sure that tools and techniques we use are still suitable. In this paper I would like to suggest how insights from contemporary critical theory can inform media studies. Because of space limitations I will work exclusively with Scott Lash’s Critique of Information. ER -
