The aim of NPWT is to close the wound faster by reducing complications like sepsis, etc. The duration of the therapy depends on the therapeutic aims, wound pathology and the presence of co-morbidities. NPWT can be used in wide range of cases and currently represents a favourite treatment method both for the patients and the medial professionals. Wound Closure time is important but not crucial in the use of the negative pressure wound therapy. Negative pressure wound therapy application time is limited by the state of the wound and is always shorter than the wound closure time. However, positive result of cultivation finding does not neccessarily mean its clinical manifestation, we are able to say that the infection in wound results in prologed NPWT therapy. Success of treatment depends on Team work and expertise of the medical staff. Suitable patient Immediate handling of all problems Tailored treatment for individual patient NPWT represents cost benefit for the patient, medical staff and in its final effect also for the hospital budget.
