The objective of the chapter is to describe the most important events in the history of PE in the Czech lands and to explain their effect on the PE curriculum. The purpose of this historical analysis based on the archive analysis and the analysis of the relevant literature is to present some fundamental information about the development of PE in the Czech lands.

V českých zemích má vzdělávání tradici a hluboké kořeny. Jeho nedílnou součástí je také tělesná výchova. Na základě archivních analýz, rešerše a analýzy relevantní odborné literatury autoři předložené kapitoly pojednávají o historii tělesné výchovy v českých zemích, jako součásti vzdělávacího systému.
