Abstract
Kapitola se zabývá rakovinou hlavy a krku regionu. Tato onemocnění jsou popsány komplexně s cílem informovat lékařskou veřejnost o základních symptomy, diagnózu a léčbu strategií pro těchto chorob. Přístup k léčbě je jednoznačně multidisciplinární. Velké pokroky byly vyrobeny zahrnutím chemoterapie nebo cílené terapii na systémy radioterapie, použití speciálního frakcionace nebo moderní radioterapie technik. Velký důraz je v současné době kladen na kvalitu života; poměr mezi účinkem léčby a jeho toxicity. Tato kapitola je určena především pro jiné než onkologové získat základní znalosti o karcinomu hlavy a krku.
Abstract (in English)
The chapter deals with cancer of head and neck region. These diseases are described comprehensively in order to inform the medical community about the basic symptoms, diagnosis and treatment strategies for these diseases. Access to treatment is clearly multidisciplinary. Great advances were made by incorporating chemotherapy or targeted therapy to radiotherapy schemes, using special fractionation or modern radiotherapy techniques. Great emphasis is nowadays placed on quality of life; the ratio between the effect of treatment and its toxicity. This chapter is primarily intended for non- oncologists to gain basic knowledge about head and neck cancer.
