Abstract
The article reports on the synthesis of eight newly prepared complexes with previously prepared organic ligand. The lanthanide complexes were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, UV–Vis, fluorescence and IR spectroscopy. Thermal decomposition of the two terbium(III) complexes with different solvent in their coordination sphere were investigated using thermogravimetric analysis. The lanthanide complexes are insoluble in water and are soluble in DMF and DMSO. This study contributes to the understanding of the coordination behaviour of the lanthanide(III) ions in organic polydentate ligand.
