Discussing the position and the nature of contemporary society means to say: Sport is the same as the society. Active transport is considered as an important source of natural physical activity in all stages of life. But in general is confirmed overal climate of sedentary society in which sport is more of mass entertainment rather than an actual activity of everyday life.

Sport reflektuje povahu daného sociálně kulturního kontextu. V případě sedavé společnosti je jedinečnou šancí kompenzovat nedostatek pohybu pravidelnou ch§zí a jízdou na kole jako formy dopravy do zaměstnání apod.
