International Trade Law Programme is usually offered as a postgraduate course, however, this specialization can be also studied as an undergraduate course in Czech language at the Faculty of Law at Masaryk University. This paper deals with teaching English for International Trade Law as a compulsory subject of this course and it presents classroom activities which aim to develop students’ negotiation skills related to international business. Although the number of in-class sessions is limited, a series of micro-tasks enables students to notice intricacies which are involved in negotiations. The activities begin with the theory and controlled practice, but they mainly revolve around negotiating contractual terms. The tasks make use of existing teaching materials as well as authentic texts, nevertheless, the whole series is tailored to the specific teaching context as the students range from fresh secondary-school graduates to those from industry.
