Abstract (in English) |
---|
There is a big country in the northeast, which in general we do not know much about, although our cultures and languages are quite close. Especially, for the last 70 years, we have lived in similar historical contexts and therefore it should not be difficult to understand each other and cooperate closely together. How CLOSE are both nations from the perspective of culture and language perception? How FAR are they due to the lack of interest in each other and the inability to understand each other for the semantic incomprehensibility of both languages? What are the stereotypes about the Czech and the Polish? These are the basic questions we asked at the beginning of the research project “Close and Far”. The primary aim of the project was to get the answers to the above questions from the Czech and the Polish living in the border region as well as the interior of both countries and get a picture of how it is between the Czech and the Polish at the moment. |
