Histiocytární choroby jsou velmi vzácné, jejich incidence není přesně zmapována, incidence histiocytózy z Langerhansových buněk se pohybuje kolem 1–2 případů na jeden milion obyvatel a rok, incidence ostatních je podstatně menší. Do skupiny histiocytárních chorob patří histiocytární sarkom, histiocytóza z Langerhansových buněk, sarkom z Langerhansových buněk, sarkom z interdigitujících dendritických buněk, sarkom z folikulárních dendritických buněk, tumory z fibroblatických a retikulárních buněk, tumor z indeterminovaných dendritických buněk a skupina nemocí řazených do skupiny juvenilního xantogranulomu; do této kategorie patří také Erdheimova-Chesterova choroba. V textu jsou tyto choroby stručně představeny.

Histiocytic disorders are very rare – their true incidence is unknown, the incidence of Lahgerhans histiocytosis is estimated about 1–2 new cases per 1 million inhabitants and year the incidence of other related diseases is significantly lower. Into the group of histiocytic disorders the following nosological units are classified: histiocytic sarcoma, tumors derived from Langerhans cells (Langerhans cell histiocytosis and Langerhans cell sarcoma), interdigitating dendritic cell sarcoma, follicular dendritic cell sarcoma, fibroblastic reticular cell tumors, indeterminate dendritic cell tumor and the group of disorders related to the group of diseminated juvenile xanthogranuloma with one of the forms classified as Erdheim- Chester disease. These disorders are briefly introduced in the article.
